A combination of shortsighted government regulations, the collapse of the financial markets and an economic downturn that was regionally disastrous for jobs, caused Local No. 7’s multi-employer Pension Plan to become critically underfunded. All attempts to save the Pension Plan have been exhausted. The Pension Rescue Plan is an effort to save the Pension Plan from completely running out of money in 10 to 12 years.
